Why does an Aspirant of Sainik / RMS / RIMC Needs Residential coaching for about Six Months?
 

To answer this question, we have to see how these institutions select boys for admission.

Total Vacancy for Sainik in class VI  - 100 less all types of reservations what is left is 35%

RMS is just 13% and RIMC has just 25 seat over all

Number of aspirants for one seat is around 100 to 300 for RIMC.

About 100 to 150 for RMS and 

for Sainik School about 35 per one seat.

The selection is made on Merit, is that the marks obtained by the candidate in Written test and VIVA.

Written test has Maths, English, Intelligence test and General Awareness ( for RMS,  Maths, int and English / language for Sainik School)

The age factor is such that the boy gets just ONE chance in Sainik and RMS.

About two amd  maximum of Three chances For RIMC.

The standard of paper is high. ( it is slightly more than the class V for VI entrance and class VIII for class IX Entrance), hence only a score of above 75% in all subjects will make the boy  to be in the  Merit  list.

·        For  SC, ST, Defence personnel's dependence there is a separate Quota,

      cut off marks is less, we will not talk about it. ( however, there is merit in that quota too)

·         The standard of the Question paper is certainly more than the normal school exams.

·         Since the seats are limited the competition is very high.    

Our Aim is  to see to it that all our candidates make it in the final merit list.

Hence we want to have a reasonably  high IQ candidates.

Preparing the candidates right from class III is highly recommended

The boys should be put through the Intelligence tests and GK to start with

Mathematics is a scoring subject, provided the kid is taught the basic concepts

Daily working out sums will be of great importance

English is to be taught in such a manner that the child is easily able to read, comprehend and write

Grammar is important, hence 1 hour of practice every second day is necessary

In short a time table is required to be made and religiously followed for success
