 8 Ways to Become a Pilot in the forces and 2 methods to become a Civil Pilot

First and Best method -

Qualify for National Defence Academy while you are still studying in Class and as you finish your studies Join the NDA at Pune as an Air Wing Cadet Pass out and join the Indian Airforce Academy At Dundigal and move on after above a year and a half of training in various aircraft you get your wings

Age: 17.5 to 19.5 years as of now only male candidates are allowed

Second Method -

Qualify for Combined Defence Services Entrance Exam for the Air force ( age limit up to 23) Must have science PHY, maths in class XII

Third Method -

Face the Air Force Common Admission Test and Qualify to move on to AFA

Fourth Method -

During your undergraduate join Airwing and face the SSB on qualifying you will be sent to AFA for further Training

Fifth Method -

Join Indian AirForce as an Airman, and try for Reserved Vacancy to qualify and be sent to AFA for further Training

Sixth Method -

Qualify the Indian Naval Entrance Test - and opt to get trained as a Pilot

Seventh Method -

Join the Indian Army as an Officer and then after a few years opt of Aviation on selection you will move to AFA for training

Eighth Method -

Apply for Coast Guard for Pilot entry on qualifying you will be sent for training

Ninth Method -

If you have a commercial pilot you may join Coast Guard/ BSF and become a pilot

Tenth Method -

Join Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi and get trained to become a Commercial Pilot
This costs you about 50 L

Private Pilot -

This is purely for recreational purpose, you can get trained for 60 hours in civil flying clubs anywhere in the world and on qualifying for the required test you will be certified as a Private pilot

One can take up a Commercial pilot licence after flying for 200 hours and qualify for the required tests
